Safe & Efficient Torsion Spring Installation
Our garage door winding bars provide the controlled leverage technicians need when you wind or unwind torsion springs. The bars are mainly suit for garage door cones size(1-3/4”,2”, 2-5/8”,3-3/4”,5-1/4”,6”). The solid carbon steel construction and carefully finished ends help ensure secure engagement with winding cones, reducing slippage risk and supporting safer, faster installation work.

Durable Carbon Steel for Professional Use
Made from high-quality carbon steel, these garage door winding bars with stand repeated professional use by installers and service teams. They resist bending and deformation under normal operating loads, making them reliable tools for both residential and heavier commercial door work.
Customization & Sales Support
KOP DOOR offers pair packaging, surface laser marking for your logos or information, and private-label options. Lengths can be customized (18″, 24″, 30″), and hexagonal diameter can be confirmed to match your specific market needs. These features make garage door winding bars not only practical tools for installation companies but also high-quality brand products for distributors—ones that can help distributors provide installation support to their customers and boost sales.

The garage door winding bar is a special high-strength tool used in conjunction with the torsion spring cone sleeve of the sliding garage door. Insert the winding bar into the torsion spring winding cone hole to apply and release the torsion force, completing the replacement of the spring, adjustment of the torsion force. It is only applicable to the torsion spring system. The extension spring system does not require the winding bar.
The round-end version (commonly 18″) with rounded tips is the standard choice when you handle most residential torsion spring work. The hexagonal version offers a stronger grip and better force transfer, making it especially suitable for both residential and industrial garage doors where higher torque is required.
The winding bar and the spring cones socket must be closely fitted. If you pick a bar diameter is too small, it will shake and slip during operation; if the bar diameter is too large, it won’t fit into the socket. The incorrect size was the main safety hazard that led to the winding bar popping out and causing injuries to the on-site person. Always select a bar that matches your garage-door cone socket diameter
The spring cones has two misaligned 90° holes. The two winding bars operate alternately: one is subjected to force and pushed up, while the other moves to the next hole and continues to apply force. Working with only one bar puts you at high risk of slipping.
It is not universal. Your choice depends on the diameter of the garage door cone hole, the weight of the door, and the spring torque. A 1/2″ winding bar is suitable for most American residential doors; for heavy-duty commercial doors, a 5/8″ large-diameter winding bar should be selected. Before purchasing, confirm the parameters of the spring cone first.
